Whitch whistle should I use?

I often get asked what whistle I use and why and what whistle someone should use with their dog? So which whistle should you use? There are literally hundreds of whistles available on the market, from metal, to plastic to antler horn whistles. It can be very complex deciding which one to get so hopefully this will help you. I would stay away from antler whistles or similar. These ones look amazing however it can be very difficult to replace them because the tones aren’t always exactly the same. The most common whistle found and one that is easily replaced and readily found are the acme range of whistles. These vary in ranges including 210, 210.5, 211, 211.5 and now are available in a wide range of colours.

So which tone should you go for? Does it matter which tone you use dependant on which breed you own? Well actually no. Some say that certain dogs will only listen to a certain tone but the truth is it matters not. It’s important to always stick with the tone you’ve picked. So once you’ve chosen a whistle, stick with it. There are some important things to remember with whistles: The other important thing is buy a lanyard. This makes it practically hands free and you’ll always know where it is. There are numerous places you can buy a whistle but we recommend Sporting Saint. //
