The weather over the last few months has been bad….really bad. So when speaking with the guys at ShooterKing and they mentioned they were designing a smock and what features would I want to see I immediately became interested! After all who doesn’t love a smock…and I have a few! The new ShooterKing smock is available in Green as the Greenland smock or Brown as the highland smock with a Shoottex membrane:10,000mm/WR,10,000g/sqm/24hr and Anti insect formula making it extra superb for stalking, dog walking, shooting, fishing or wildfowling. Going through the features from top to bottom then. It has a generous hood which comes with a wired peak, toggle adjusters on the top of the hood as well as on the front sides and the neck making it very adjustable for a perfect fit. The smock has a left breast pocket perfectly situated for a radio when shooting or mobile phone. There is a large chest pocket for storage, perfect shape for a map when out stalking. The bonus of this pocket is not only is it fitted with a full length zip but it comes with a magnet fastening, meaning that it secures without doing up the zip keeping any contents secure. Beneath this pocket is another large hand warmer pocket accessed by side zips. This pocket is fleece lined meaning very warm hands! It’s a full length pocket meaning your hands can meet in the middle. The sleeves are fitted with waterproof underarm pit zips for added ventilation and the wrists are fully adjustable with Velcro tabs. The cuffs are made of neoprene and the adjusters allow for a nice snug fit. The smock is long in design. I’m 6’4″ tall and the smock finishes halfway down my legs. There are adjusters at the waist to tighten when needed. The lower part of the smock has waterproof zips which undo, again for ventilation and making it easier to place on and take off. The Greenland smock is fully seam sealed making it very waterproof. I’ve managed one day in the rain and stayed completely dry in it but I’m sure there is more rain to come. I paid for a bespoke smock as, having longer arms than most, needed a little bit extra fabric which ShooterKing were superb with facilitating which meant that I managed to get my hands on my one quicker!

Ive had it a couple of days and already managed to put it to the test. Early days but I love it! The fabric on the inside is soft and comfortable. The outside feels soft and almost neoprene like and very, very durable. The fit is nice and I think will take a battering in our weather here in the UK. I’m looking forward to using it whilst dog training and lampung at night which I’m sure it will stand up well too. The cost is £229 plus postage and will be available very soon. I opted for a brown smock but it is available in green. Initial thoughts are it’s incredibly well made and a lot of thought has gone into it. Like the other ShooterKing products I’ve purchased the attention to detail is great and the quality is second to none and the price compared to other brands is very, very competetative. I would definitely recommend ShooterKing. The customer service is second to none and they are very helpful.
