Just because it’s chucking it down with rain, doesn’t mean training stops! So I have lots of different brands of clothing. I started using ShooterKing clothing back in October 2015 after a very wet walked up day. Two of our guns, James and Tony from The Shotgun Training Company who are sponsored by ShooterKing, came wearing the Greenland suits. At the end of the day, they were completely dry and as a result everyone else was pretty soaked! So shortly after I purchased a Greenland jacket and a Viking fleece (click on it for the review). Well, I think it’s fair to say we have had a few very wet months and the jacket hasn’t a beat. It’s light weight, very hard wearing, and very comfy. The jacket has a technical membrane which makes it waterproof so it’s important that it’s not washed in anything other than Nikwax tech wash and TX direct if you wish, but not necessary. I must admit that I always TX direct every 8-10 tech washes, I do that on any clothing I have using Nikwax. So pleased was I with their jacket I ordered some trousers and one of their jumpers. Again both using the shootex membrane making them waterproof. Yes even the wool jumper which is incredibly warm and comfortable. Sadly this week, I weakened and again made yet another purchase. This time I purchased the country oak trousers. These are very warm with a lovely fleece like lining and the mossy oak country oak camo is really interesting and the way it’s printed on the cordura is impressive and unlike anyone else. Completely waterproof and very comfy! Being out everyday means the clothing I use gets tested to the limits, both when working with the dogs, be it training or picking up or walked up training. I’m out in all weathers so I need to stay warm and importantly dry. I’ve always kept a spare coat in the car to swop halfway through a wet day. I’m pleased to say that’s not the case anymore.
